Wii

We now have a Wii at work. The CEO waited in line to buy one on release night, proudly carried it in this morning, and promptly hooked it up to the giant flat-screen in the conference room. I'm amused at grown men swinging the controllers around to play Zelda... and at the fact that you can download some classic NES games like the original Zelda, Donkey Kong, and, weirdly enough, Solomon's Key.

First casualty of having a Wii in the office! A glass of water was smacked off the conference table and sent flying by someone's attempt at playing Wii sports (tennis, to be precise). The office Roomba was immediately dispatched to clean it up.

Did the glass yell Wiiiiiii as it flew through the air?
Hopefully my wife gets me one for Xmas, if not then I'll pick one up after the first of the year.

Hahah did anyone see that video on Youtube of that IDIOT who waited ages to be first in line to spend his money on the thing, then proceeded to smash it up right outside, in front of angry and annoyed people queuing...

That would be a PS3, if the dude was dressed up like a pimp right out of a blacksploitation flick. Except caucasian.

Just tried it tonight... can't say I'm too impressed with Wii Sports. I can understand why some people are complaining about the precision (or lack thereof) of the controller.

It's not lame... it's the only innovative thing in video games in a long ass time.
It's just a shame they didn't get it entirely right. If they're going to charge you $250 for the system, the technology should be at least better... but as it stands, the controller just isn't that impressive.

well... theres plenty of ways to be innovative... but that doesnt make them smart :P could be stupid. the only really successful game i can think of off the top of my head that involves real interaction of moving your body is like dance dance revolution... I just dont see WII lasting.. : / atleast not the swinging controllers around and stuff. i dont know if you can turn that off and just play regular(i havent played it myself).

He gets money from donations I think. He's done it to an iPod, a Nano, etc. Pretty much anything cool that comes out. I think it's SmashOurStuff.com
