Even though I'm only wearing one piece anymore, it's still the best looking set I have.
Sometimes I put the whole set on, and just stand near the bank in Orgrimmar. You won't believe how many people stop to inspect you when you're wearing something different than all the other mages out there.

The Dark Portal was fun on the first day. I knew things were going to be tough as soon as I rode up
Sure enough, it was camped by a lot Alliance.
We soon pushed to the quest giver. Many people died for the glory of the Argent Dawn.
The Alliance started to lose their ground.
Success
Now we have to fight our way back to turn in the quest..
After I finished the quest and got my tabard, I stuck around and helped lock down the valley. All alliance seen approaching the crater were slain for the Horde

So the only new units in that game that I see are the Archons and SCVs (and the buildings I guess... but I can't imagine buildings being hard to do).

Nothing ever excited and scared the shit out of me as my guild doing Naxxramas. Over a four day period, two officers and I ran an attunement drive to get as many people into the dungeon as possible and ended up with a total of 15. Between the three of us, we spent several hundreds of gold on materials to prepare for the event. One of the officers - a hnter- and I spent three hours the previous nights testing every pull and every crowd control method available to us (which wasn't many) until we came with some solid goals and benchmarks. We entered expecting to take down Plague Wing ghouls and only the ghouls. In the end, we cleared the first three Ghoul/Ooze spawns and traveled to the balcony overlooking the rest of the Plague wing.

We couldn't get past this point because the Gargoyles that patrol around will heal to full health if not killed in 6 seconds when it hits 30% life. In other words, if your raid DPS is severly limited by the fact you have less than half of a normal Naxxramas raid group, they are impossible to kill. So we stopped there and went to the Deathknight wing, supposedly the hardest of the four.

Again, we hit a brick wall at a spot where the our raid size became the only factor in our failure. We were absolutely shocked at the pace in which we learned the NPC skills and how to adapt to them with our numbers. You won't find a single mob here that crits cloth for under 1.8k damage.
This was so much fun and was probably the best way we could have concluded our adventures in Vanilla WoW.

I hit 45 with my fire mage last night.
Being able to consistently crit is a great thing. I had a 42 druid and 44 warrior try to gank me out in Tanaris, they both burned and felt my fiery wrath.
I still need to pick up a copy of BC though, I was mainly waiting till I hit 60, as there is no real advantage for me to have it just yet.

You can go into Outlands at 58. And once there, you'll easily get to 60 in just a couple of runs of Ramparts (first instance there). That would be the fastest way to get to 60 since I assume that the old 60 instances are ghost towns.

Most of the mid/high instances have been pretty bare the last few days.
Lately I've been switching back and forth with Feralas and Tanaris doing quests. I was going to go give Azshara a try this weekend.

Well when you are only 45 and you're throwing critcals a good chunk of the time. I'm not to the point that I'm relying on it but without combustion I'm sitting at just over 20% for fire.

FROST! Kakaka... I basically *expect* crits these days when grinding with Frostbite+Shatter... which is sorta bad coz I tend to underbudget my mana and have to pot (or use a mana stone) when a mob only needs one more bolt to die.

I read through the guides, but they were more geared towards Alliance.
I didn't stay long in Un'goro after having to fight multiple groups of allies by myself I went over to Felwood instead.

Now to maximize my hording of pally gear twinks...
p.s. I'll be respeccing my warrior to protection when he hits 68... since tanking is what all he's gonna be able to do anyway after the "love" blizz gave. Gonna go with Pally from now on and give the bubbling alliance a taste of their own medicine - with mana drain and silence bundled in with the deal

I hit 67 today and I've been thinking about respeccing to protection. I'm Arms now and it seems like I'm not much better damage-wise than Altron who's a holy priest unless I get a good string of crits. Maybe I just have bad gear.

The Sylvanas quest. This is probably my favorite thing to ever come out of the expansion. One of the quests in Ghostlands (the Blood Elf 10-20 area) sends you to this banshee outpost where one of them drops a pendant that allegedly belonged to Lady Sylvanas Windrunner. At the end of the quest you return it to her and she sings for you one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Call me a ****** but this evoked a lot of emotion from me.
If you are alliance, try digging up the song "Lament of the Highborne" (its name on my soundtrack), as you guys really get shafted out of the most enchanting piece of music in the game, sung to you by the Banshee Queen herself.

Heh. Funny. I was actually going through a bunch of my old games and thought about installing it on my new machine. But I need something to push my new rig to the limits. Warcraft certainly isn't doing that. I have everything possible maxed out @ 1920x1200 and it runs without a hitch. I've been dying to play a first person. Any suggestions? I was thinking 28478 battlefield or whatever. Since the new Unreal won't be out for awhile.

Planetside, if you don't mind chugging another monthly fee.
That game runs worse and worse with every patch. when I first got it, two years ago, I ran it in full detail without a hitch with a radeon 9600 and 1 gb of ram, now I have twice the card and ram and I have to run it at the lowest settings just to make heads or tails of anything in a serious fight.
Staying away from bf2141 is probably a good idea.

By the way, does getting an epic pally mount also automatically turn ur riding skill to 150? Or does that mean we would still have to pay almost 1K gold just to ride an epic chocobo?

Heh, as soon as you hit 60 the gold will start rolling in, Outlands is basically paved with it. They really want you to get that flying mount as soon as you get 70. In fact, at 58 you could probably head there now, although it is kind of a pain getting around the big zones there without that extra boost of speed.

If you have the mats it's easy and short, except the last 2 parts (they're just short, but not so easy).
The semi-last part is getting holy water from Tyr's Hand. Unless you can kill 3 elites at the same time (and they can all heal), you can't do that without a little help.
The last part is entering Stratholme through the service gate, killing the first 2 groups, then killing 5 paladins. I duo'd it with a level 70 warlock friend.

the two lowbies were really cute. the 60 saw me MCing the mage (I was tryin to buff her) when she started attackin me. through emotes I got the priest to res the fallen warlock after I slaughtered her and then she apologized to me. I'm awesome.

When I first saw Karazhan from the outside (picture), I thought it would be a real ugly-looking instance. I guess you can image I was quite surprised the first time I set foot inside.
Now when you first enter this area, the stage curtains are closed. You fight your way backstage where you meet the stage manager. After you talk to him, he takes you on stage and starts announcing the show that's going to take place. When he's done talking, the curtains open and the fight starts. Last night we got the Wizard of Oz fight: We had to kill Dorothee, Tito, Tinhead, Strawman, Roar, and The Crone. This probably is the funniest fight of the 3 that are available. They really tried their best to make it alot like the original story. For instance, Roar (the lion) can be feared the entire fight, Strawman gets disoriented by fire spells and Tinhead gets a 'rust' debuff when you hit him with frost spells, causing him to move real slow.
Our actual plan was to listen to the stage manager to see which fight it is. When it was the Romulo & Julianne fight we'd know what to do, since we killed them last time; when it was the Big Bad Wolf we'd just quickly explain tactics before the fight would begin; and if it was the Wizard of Oz fight we'd try our best and then wipe and fully explain, cause there was no way we'd make it the first time anyway, judging from all the stories on the internet. We ended up getting this fight, and killed them the first try (Unlike Romulo & Julianne, who took about 8 tries and seemed much harder to us).
We then spend the rest of the evening wiping on the next boss in the instance, the Curator.
I really like how Blizzard put all kinds of characters from everywhere into the game. At first I thought having Mario and Luigi (Larion and Muigi) was nice. Then I found out about the Link (Linken) questline, where you have to recover the master sword and the triforce, while everything in the questline resembles things in the Zelda games. But this opera house event is just great. I don't even know how they come up with using these kinda things, but you can't ask for a funnier fight if you ask me.
Now lets hope we get the big bad wolf next week. During the fight, the wolf periodically casts a 'little red riding hood' debuff on a random person. That person can't attack or cast spells, their armor and resistances are set to 0, and their run speed is increased by 50%. Oh yeah, and they'll also have a wolf chasing them around the stage. Can't wait to see that.

No I kept putting it off trying to decided on what I wanted and then got to this point. I'll probably just pick one and then grind it to get it up there now. Most likely I'll do alchemy because being a mage you can never have too many heal/mana pots.

So we went to Gruul's Lair tonight. 3 trashmobs, then the first boss. The boss is an ogre with 4 adds, each with their own fighting style and abilities.
We managed to kill one add on 2 of our attempts. Casualties on our side at the end of the night: 262. 24g repair costs.
It was still kinda fun though. We actually had the initial pull somewhat under control after a few times. Our first attempt only lasted about 10 secs.
We'll get our revenge one day.

Its not fun getting the Halaa black talbuks. I spent all of level 65-66 at Sunspring Post in Nagrand getting the Oshu'gun Crystal turnins, 300 total. After that, I waited all day for the Horde to actually come into Halaa where we waited with a full group to gank them repeatedly.

Really? Maybe you can refer them to me... I work in the financial services industry why are they worried about their stock portfolios? Don't they have someone advising them on it? Stocks are volatile and it's only natural for it to go up and down. If they sell at the first sight of a market dip, they're stock noobs, and would be better to just roll over that thing into a decent annuity or mutual fund
Everyone with a house worries about mortgage payments. That's why refinancing exists - unless they're worried coz they already refinanced their house for the umpteenth time...
Anyway, your friends are probably one of the very few who actually worry about their money so much that they are oblivious about current events, especially those pertaining to merely the biggest massive multiplayer game in the world right now that has millions of subscribers around the globe - but I bet they know about Britney shaving her head or the death of Anna Nicole Smith... hell, even I didn't know about those until recently...

So I was angsting out the last day or so because of an issue I had with another player.
I was in nagrand farming for Oshu'Dun powders when some guy kept spamming the general chat with "CAN I GET A PORTAL TO ORGRIMMAR" for about 15 minutes. I got tired of it and told him "quit being lazy and just fly to shattrath. it's a 1 minute flight and there are portals to all the other cities there. If you had just flown there first instead of begging for a portal, you'd have been there long ago."
so he gets mad and starts PMing me and I just said "look, it's stupid and wasteful to spam up /1 when you could have flown there yourself and saved yourself getting made fun of and coming off looking like a huge idiot" to which he was quiet for a minute and then sent me a tell that said:
"hey you don't need to be an ass...you have been reported and you will be put on ignore...thank you for being a jerk tonight...and please send my regards to the GM that speak with you..."
I replyed with a simple "lol" before he blocked me and then told /1 about it and remarked that it'll be pretty fun when a GM messages me and we both make fun of him. About half an hour later I was beat and went to sleep. I wake up, and check my email....

So I page a GM and surprisingly about 20 minutes later one messages me. Basically, he tells me there's nothing that he can do, but I can refute and plead my case via a wowadmin form he gave me a link to. I get right to business and write up several paragraphs about the situation.
And about 12 hours later, I get another E-Mail.

This is the first time I've really felt obliged to write some GM feedback. This guy was really cool and chatted with me. If you read the logs carefully you'll see that the guy who originally reported me for calling him lazy got punished too loooooooooooool.
