the thing that kills me the most is how much utility and efficiency other healing specced hybrids have. every time I group with a holy paladin since I went shadow I just feel embarrassed how superior that class is at healing from me
honestly 100% serious though, read the priest forums.
it's sad because we have a more mature and articulate forum than any other class forum. the problem is we don't bitch loud and hard about every little change so blizzard gives us little priority and we get ****ed in the ass a lot because of it.

Try healing a whole party with single-target heals when you're at an AoE-damage using boss. 
On the other hand, holy paladins can be really mana-efficient. I usually die before I'm OOM.

For like 20 minutes me and taco were trying to get a group together to kill a Fel Reaver for the Shattered Halls key and no one wanted to help so we decided to kite it into Thrallmar to the BE mages.
Only problem is the only one to come close to Thrall in all the time we were patrolling was from here-

We tried to juggle aggro as it caught up to us (since it chases us about the speed of a regular 60% land mount) but was proved unskillful at it as there's no way to go in a straight line from there to the BEs. All the "WTFs" in /y were pretty funny.
After a long, arduous journey, the Fel Reaver made it to his destination.

it is allegedly a prequel to WoW and you can see how thrall, jaina, cairne, illidan, and sylvanas got to where they are now. ****ing awesome I wanted to see how things were before WoW. bout time they released something like this instead of just leaving us with unfinished stories left and right

Finally got my mage to 60 today (getting 1k rested exp per mob in outlands is pretty sweet, not to mention every quest giving like 5k exp, even the ones that are "run to the house next door and talk to this guy")... and after bumming 300g from a friend, she's now got an epic mount. Now all I have to do is farm 1k for my regular flying mount... and then 5k for an epic... ><
The quest rewards in Outlands >>>>>> my old gear. Thank God, coz my old gear really did suck. I'm not too big a fan of my new armor though... can't wait to find a robe for my mage once more (her pants are too slutty-looking).
My priest also snagged the Hypnotic Blade from SM Lib today just right before she dinged 34. Can't wait to get her to 40 so she can finally not have to walk around to everywhere...

this alliance (67 warlock) was trying his damdest to kill me, eventually a 70 warrior showed up but couldn't hit me, though he was able to charge, just not hit me with it. Made me mad cause I wasn't even attacking anyone doin this since I'd surely get banned.
I did play a prank on the warlock when I first saw him though, I mind flayed him in the back from the ground once when he was attacking a mob, then started flying away. No dots or anything, thought it'd be funny.
I guess he reported me cause about 20min later I suddenly got teleported to UC and a GM swiftly told me "If that ever happens again, log out and log in to resolve the issue"
I thanked him for not banning me :V

I would have made a Draenai warrior instead, but there are already tons of those on my server. You almost never see female NE warriors though.
My friend helped me get my 2nd Cruel Barb from VC (she's run VC 8 times and had the blade drop 5/8 times... but only walked out with the sword once. ****ing hunters.) We then proceeded to figure out what were the cheapest weapon enchants we could do to make the swords glow different colors. I'm quite happy with what turned out.

I also need to change my UI a bit for my warrior. I find I never use hotkeys for Battle Shout or Bloodrage. I need to move them up past the pots and make the buttons a bit bigger. And also move Howl over too. For tanking there's just way too many things I'd like to hotkey but can't, so have to make up for by having buttons placed close enough for me to get to quickly enough.
My priest is no longer wearing hot-looking Aboriginal Robes of the Whale or Azure Silk Vests (refer to this post and this post to find out what I mean). Instead, she looks quite regal in her Robes of Power. She's also fully decked out in SM gear (amulet, shoulders, head, and Hypnotic Blade), so she already has more than +50 shadow damage and over +70 healing. And that's untwinked!

Today I learned to climb walls.
It all started when my friend saw a druid sitting on top of the weapon shop next to the IF bank. Then he got up there, and I was like, "I wanna go up there too!" So after awhile I finally did.

Given that I have a 63, 52, and 39 toon on this server (with combined gold of roughly 400g right now, which isn't a lot but I did recently get an epic mount for my 63) with friends I see either on the server or IRL every day... not likely. I also get tired of leveling *really fast*.
It's always the same with every server I have friends on. I can't expect them to always run me through instances or to help powerlevel me, so it's ultimately a huge time investment on leveling a character that I ultimately abandon (I've tried this with 3 servers so far... the farthest I've gotten on my non-main server is 30). The "in about 2 or 3 months you can have a 70 like us" really depends on whether I actually have the time to invest in playing that much for that long. Because even if I had the time, I wouldn't have the endurance to play for that many hours a day to get a 70 so quickly. And meanwhile, as I'm trying my damnedest to get to 70, they're moving deeper and deeper into the endgame so that by the time I *do* get to 70, I'll have just as much work as I did before to catch up with before I can do anything with them (rep grinding, attunement, etc).
So basically it's a hopeless and endless battle that I can't expect to ever win. And starting over on this hopeless battle isn't at all appealing to me right now.
Plus you're Horde. The last Horde I rolled got to 20 before I gave up out of utter boredom because I wasn't leveling nearly as efficiently as I could have if I was on Alliance.

On that note, I just went on a massive mod installation/reworking last night and this morning.
I've now:
- reinstalled Auctioneer
- replaced CTBar with Bongos
- installed Outfitter
- tried to get FuBar to work but ended up hating it, so I took it out
- installed Opium (a KoS list manager)
- reinstalled Atlas
- installed Cartographer
The first thing that happened when I started scanning the AH was that WoW complained it ran out of memory for the UI, so now I have my addon memory limit set to 0.
One of these days I might reinstall agUnitBars again so my unit frames can look as as yours Altron.

I told him to get bongobars but he won't listen to me.
fubar is really, really great once you get it to look how you want to. that's what I use. it uses less memory that titanbar and is a lot more customizable. I use everything you except opium and cartographer. agUnitBars is probably the biggest pain in the ass to configure, but once you get it to look exactly how you want, awww yeah

Next we ventured to Steam Vaults because altron needed CE rep.
After fighting through heroic Auchenai Crypts, we felt that normal SV was a little too easy.
So we decided to step up the difficulty ourselves by having me tank with no armor on.

In some cases I agree with that. If I had something like 1024x768 resolution, then yeah, I'd definitely try to conserve space. But I have 1680x1050. So there are certain things I want to be on my screen. Although my main is a hunter and there's almost nothing on the screen for her. I should post some screens at some point, but I'm lazy... >_>

I tried to get a big thing going in TB today but could only round together about 4 people to play with me. It was fun, but would be better in much bigger numbers. It's set up perfect in that if you die, you release on top of the graveyard, and with a 2min CD on the elixirs, you won't get a res timer.
Only problem is only the people who did the quest and bought the damn things themselves can play. If they weren't BoP and had no level req, I'm sure it'd take off more.

Like pretty much every guild we bid on the items with our earned DKP. The loot is usually set to free-for-all and we just all pass on everything and start bidding after. Actually I'm not sure why we don't use master loot but at least this way it's real easy to see what dropped.
The only problem is when someone accidently presses greed instead of pass, but that almost never happens anyway.

we don't use dkp, actually i dont know if its because most of the guilds on this server are led by previous members of a launch guild that had the same system, but lots of people alliance side here use loot council. kicks ass for me as the only raiding resto druid; no competition = defaulted all leather = no dkp spent on non-tier loot

Well for now at least, I find that using this new UI hasn't really made anything less convenient. I've remapped my bag and character sheet buttons to the right hand side of the keyboard (to I and J respectively), which means I have two extra hotkeys (or 4-6 with modifiers) to use now. I just need to train myself away from hitting "B" everytime I want to open or close my bags.
I'm enjoying the new space, at any rate. While transparency is nice, it's not a real solution.
Of course the screenshot doesn't show what happens with a party, which pretty much fills the left side of my screen with bars. :P

This was technically a 1% wipe but that shot turned out bad. At 6%, we had a roof collapse on our MT for 23,996 damage, a completely unavoidable freak accident. Mag oneshots #2-#5 on DPS, then the healers, drops to 1% while being evasion tanked and blast waves us.

Probably one of my favorite screenshots considering twenty minutes earlier a guild had a 1% wipe on Gruul's Lair and it was almost their first kill. Apparently, they had less than 4,000 damage left on Gruul but everyone was /dancing and shooting off fireworks, celebrating early instead of casting just two or three spells and they wiped. After our next attempt, we killed Mag and moved on to Gruul's lair to complete a hexagon of tier 4 loot tokens while the other guild wiped for the rest of the night.
Mag is just a very complicated and deadly version of Fishing. You have to click on the cube at the exact right time just like fishing, except instead of not catching a fish when you misclick you cause the raid to wipe!

Actually, there will be debris falling at a spot for about 5 seconds (doing no damage), then a huge burning rock falls down on that same spot, doing around 80k-120k (unmitigated) damage. Just make sure to quickly move out of the way when you're underneath the debris.
Of course the tank himself might not be able to see it very clearly with his back to the wall and Magtheridon standing on top of him. Ranged DPS and healers could warn him though.

Uhok, it's a solution if you have all your keys thoroughly memorized. Set everything but your unit frames to 100% transparent, and you suddenly have lots of open space to look at.

Haha yeah eah thats exactly what happened, MT was back up against the wall and he "didn't see any debris, i was staring at mag's ***** the entire time"
It was a total freak accident because we NEVER have deaths from those stupid things. They aren't aggro based. They probably dont even target players like netherspite void zones or specific places on the map like malchezaar infernals.

Shrug. I suppose it's easier for a priest not to have anything on your UI. On my Shaman, I had 6 full bars in constant use, not to mention all my addons for monitoring the group/raid. You really do just get used to having a lot of stuff on screen.

Last week I went to my first real raid... ever. Filling in for DPS here:

As for this week, I was asked to spec holy. I've never specced holy before. Or healed in a raid before, since I'd only been to 1 raid so far (if gruul and mag together count as 1 from last week). But fortunately, these fights are easy enough so that my suckage doesn't cause major wipage, especially since I'm not on click duty:

Murlocs were very easy actually. It helps that we have 5 people who can tank. Sheeps help too.
We always get owned by the Creeping Bog Lords though. The disease that spreads really fast takes out half the raid whenever it happens (but we haven't wiped on those yet - and we've kind of figured out a strategy to minimize deaths by those).

No, I mean the murlocs that spawn during the Morogrim fight. We're actually gonna skip Morogrim and kill Karathress and Leotheras first cause we're having too much difficulty with the Morogrim fight. By the time all that has happened I should have enough prot gear on my paladin to aoe tank all the murlocs at once. Right now a part of the group are picked up and the rest of them kill the healers and any aoe'er that's stupid enough to start on the murlocs right away.

Oh right lol, I forgot about those. Yeah our basic strat is:
Pally "MT" stands out of grave range (we position him right at the top of the ramp more or less) and AOE tanks the Murlocs if and when they come out. Single target DPS stays on Morogrim the whole fight, but anyone with AoE (mages, warlocks) turns around and AoEs the murlocs once the Pally has gathered them around. We have another Pally keeping this Pally healed, using BoSac to offset some of the damage. Another thing we found useful for the Pally MT to generate threat is to have a warlock lifetap a lot so the pally can pull off a really big heal on him.

That was exactly what we were planning to do. Only thing lacking was the pally MT, but I almost got that covered now.
Just wondering, why does the pally stand out of grave range? Does that actually prevent him from being graved or do you just like that spot for the murlocs?

Er, because you can't DPS or even heal the MT out of grave range, silly. :P
So basically the Pally stands out of grave range and heals whatever part of the raid he can reach from his position - which should be everyone except the MT and melee DPS. During the murloc phase, he keeps himself alive and tanks the murlocs as they come out. Another pally who is assigned to heal the Pally tank also moves out of grave range to heal and BoSac the pally tank.
The grave healer also stands out of grave range until Phase 2 (where graves stop happening). So his sole job is to make sure people don't die from getting graved throughout Phase 1, tossing heals to the Pally MT if and whenever he has time (since the grave healing position is LOS'd to the rest of the raid including the Pally MT, the grave healer risks being out of position when a grave happens if he steps away from his spot).
I guess I should also have clarified the raid positioning as a whole. Right now, we tank Morogrim at the northern wall - basically at the doorway from where the murlocs come out. You can pretty much see that from the screenshot I posted earlier. The pull is done with a hunter who misdirects to the MT waiting at the doorway.

Of course we'll give it another shot. Can't do Lady Vashj without killing him.
But umm... your murloc pally is healing the raid when there are no murlocs? Doesn't he go oom? Our idea was to use a prot specced pally with prot gear, so that would be pretty crappy healing and oom real fast if he actually started to heal anyone. Those murlocs hit me for 200-600 (not crit) in my healing gear, all 12 on me would be pretty dangerous.

Our Murloc pally is probably wearing his tanking set for that fight, IIRC. He's definitely not prot-specced since he main heals for most of our SSC encounters. But I don't see anything wrong with using a prot-specced pally there, except the inconvenience and cost of having him respec for that particular fight, especially if he doesn't tank for any other encounters.
Remember that our strat involves another pally sharing the damage from the murlocs by BoSacing him.
I should also point out that because our AoE DPS is very much on the ball, the murlocs die pretty fast so they don't really have much time to do that much damage.

I quit the game in May, but I think everyone else is still there. I'll be coming back in December.
