How's the new Bond? For the movie is it worth going to the theater? Yet I have to see it. (Yes. Essentially doing the Yoda thing I am!)

It was good.

As a matter of the cult following that so many of the other films have, it's not likely to top very many lists of favorites. However, from a critical level, I'd have to say that it is the best installment of the series, with the best acting performance for the title character. It's not so much that Daniel Craig is a better actor than, say Sean Connery, but the part is so well written (and the others so poorly) that all he would have had to do was read the script with a British accent and it would come off more convincing than anything the others ever accomplished.

It's the first Bond film, in my opinion, to have anything that resembles character development. In the other films, all you see is this seasoned veteran, spy and professional hitman. He's been there, done that, so while the action and (ahem) plot was new to the audience, the characters had a 'business as usual' feel to everything.

I don't think the following paragraph spoils anything, but just to be on the safe side, I'll use the tags.

SPOILER: (highlight to read)
In this film, a young secret agent with a shiny new license to kill, is psychologically and emotionally coming to terms with the fact that he is a professional killer. Much more interesting from a character perspective.

Well Daniel Craig is pretty damn good.

Indeed, he is. I guess I was just trying not to say that Sean Connery isn't any good.

Nice movie, you'll like Bond's gizmos, Daniel Craig seems promising.
