I don't think the future of the forum is so bad. Compared to most forums I've been to, this one is pretty active.

While I do agree that the amount of new posts have dwindled in the last couple of years, the site's (and the forum's) usefulness and activity is still pretty reliable.
As for whether we still get visitors to the site:

Yeah. It also is one of the few I've seen that has useful answers to questions. Many other forums people give answers to questions that are way out of date or cause more problems than they solve. Maybe you think this site isn't active because of the number of new posts is low from time to time, but the search feature works a lot better than on other sites so sometimes posting a question again is not necessary.

Anyway. I definitely think this site will be around for quite a while. It is a good community (totally out there, but good), and we . . . well . . . you, give helpful advice to those who need it. And as long as shalome has the most porn, we're sittin' pretty.

Congratulations on remembering your password. It says that I've been using OTS since 2005 when in reality I've been using it since 2003. I just couldn't remember my user name. There didn't seem to be any reason to use OTS once my Pentium S broke down, so I went for 2 years without using it. It turns out though that I could have used other people's advice about creating my first rig. It says "member since 2005" because I logged onto OTS once that rig was complete. Had I asked for suggestions here before then I probably would have gone for something better than a Biostar socket "A" mobo based system.

Nope. It's not senility. It's brain damage. I had a stroke 4 years go after chemotherapy for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. They never did figure out why. They didn't find a blockage in my blood vessels anywhere and my total cholesterol was only 124. They even commented at one point that even for someone in his 30s my heart is in "superb" condition - even if it runs a bit fast. One theory is a virus caused the collapse of my blood pressure causing the left side of my brain to not get enough oxygen and my weakened immune system took its time getting rid of it. Another theory is that during chemo one of the I.V.s got caught on the side of one of my blood vessels and caused a clot that took months before it traveled to my brain and maybe it was enough to cause a stroke, but too small for the MRI and other tests to find.
