F.E.A.R. Combat Terrible Framerate

I have a 7950GT, and I'm getting terrible frame rates. It doesn't seem to matter if I go 1280x1024 + Highest Settings or 640x480 at lowest settings. The game is very very... not smooth either way.
The only thing I have running in the background is XFIRE. All my other games seem to run great, but not F.E.A.R. Combat.
I used to play on a 6600GT and was able to go pretty high with the graphical settings. I'm sure my hardware is sufficient. I think it's a software problem, I just don't know what to try.
I suppose I could try different drivers, I'm just not experiencing a problem in any other games.
I'll keep testing and stuff, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a problem like this.

Okay, just kidding. XFire is causing the problem.
If I run it without XFire, it's great. If I run it with XFire, it's lag city.
Why might that be? XFire doesn't cause problems in other games.
