Can't connect to the internet

I am currently running three computers all connected to the internet via DSL on a Westell router. Recently one of them lost its connection to the internet. The other two computers can connect to the internet, share files, etc, but the first one can't do any of that, so I'm led to believe that it's not the router.
This computer was connected to the router by the motherboard's built-in network card, so I tried installing a new pci one, and that didn't work. Windows XP says that they both are working fine, but I just can't connect to the internet at all.
The router doesn't even say that it is connected, and all pings from the computer come back 100% loss. I may just be paranoid here, but about the time that I lost connection we had a thunderstorm, and although the computer in question is on a surge protector, my router is not.

Never mind I solved the problem. One of the wires got shorted by the storm.
