Confused about specs...

Where do you find all the specs for your system. I bet this is a really silly question, but I have no clue. Is it all the stuff in the advanced system information? And which pieces of the info are important when asking for help to diagnose a problem. I'm having trouble making my nieces PC game run and need to know what's the important stuff to tell someone about my system before I beg for assistance. Gosh, I really am a newbie!! Can any of you master techies help out a poor chick in trouble?? Thanks guys! I appreciate it.

Most of the relevant info will be listed in the summary section under <programs> <accessories> <system tools> <system information>. The size of the physical and virtual memory that the system has and that is "available" (unused), the speed of the processor and so on will be there. What won't be in the summary can be found in the same tree, just under hardware components. The size of the hard drive will be listed as "storage" and the video card in "display." Click the plus to the left of the components to see the subcategories within the component list then click on the components you need information about.

It's okay to be a newbie. We all were at some point. It's nothing to be embarrassed about!

Just wanted to say thank you so much for the advice. It was exactly when I needed. It turned out her video card isn't 3D and couldn't play her game because of it. Thanks so much for not making me feel any sillier than I already do!! You both have a great day! XOXOX- yummuplummy
