Pretty cool stuff for those who were little kids in the late 1970s and 80s, but not necessarily an animated feature to take your own to. Looks like a machines invading the planet version of "Independence Day!"
The MySpace link doesn't work with the 64 bit editions of Windows though. Adobe is taking its sweet time releasing a version of Flashplayer for 64 bit...

What needs to be discussed?
Pure awesome.

I remain skeptical. Transformers were a huge part of my childhood, and I have rather high expectations. The trailer looks promising, however.

This is gonna be sweet... been waiting a long time for this... probably my only caveats with the film, aside from michael bay being the director, would be the choice in vehicles for the "heroes" - bumblebee is a camaro, jazz is a pontiac solstice, ratchet is a hummer and ironhide is a GM pickup
Very ironic... a movie as a US marketing vehicle (pardon the pun) using characters created by the Japanese
In any case, can't wait till the 4th!

Well, at least bumblebee isn't a Volkswagen bug (intensional pun)

uh... like saying "at least Luke Skywalker isn't a jedi..."
The fact that bumblebee was NOT a VW bug is akin to turning Samwise Gamgee into a girl in Lord of the Rings movies -_-

Peter Cullen is doing the voice of Prime, that gets a total +10 in my book alone.
Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.

That is what sold it for me as well. I just feel so soothed and safe hearing the original Prime voice cause it's never changed and it's been there since I was a kid :3
Call me gay or whatever but I'm just sayin what everyone else is thinkin.

You're gay.

Honey, you're the only one here that could and would confirm that anyway

Could.
Wouldn't.
However, his assessment stands.

Now, I will pay money to see this movie.

It looks alright. Just looks like too much of an action film if you ask me. I want to see something like the G1 'toons. I loved the show growin' up. The fact that they've changed the vehicles doesn't bother me so much, as long as they can remain true to what it was that I liked. Although Bumblebee shouldn't of changed. It's not like we've gotten rid of the VW Bug. Updates fit a little more with the story of how the Transformers worked.
I mean, it's supposed to take place in our modern world. So of course they should blend into our world a little better. Now it woulda been a terrible crying shame of they kept the VW Bug idea for Bumblebee, but it was a GeekSquad vehicle. :-P
Okay, now work is seeping into my mind.

If the Transformers universe had some sort of continuity, it would have a hell of a lot bigger following. The Transformer shit out now is just retarded.
As far as the movie goes, it will probably be nice eye candy at least.

This film is the culmination of my entire being. I've been eagerly awaiting it. I too am a little worried about Michael Bay, but it will still be awesome.
I'm excited about Peter Cullen, the original voice of Prime. I wish Chris Latta hadn't killed himself so we could have Starscream back.
As for Bumblebee as a VW Beetle, I understand that VW would have no part of a violent film, apparently Germany has a bad history of violence. That's an unofficial reason, of course. You won't hear them saying that on the transformersmovie website.
Ion, even in the first generation animated series there wasn't much continuity. Different writers would take the same characters and do whatever they wanted to the storyline. Hasbro didn't care about continuity, the show was selling the shit out of toys without an overly large story arc.
But my hopes and dreams aside, if they massacre it, the special effects will make it a movie-going event. I hope they make an Imax version of the film. 300 was amazing in Imax.
Posted by: Bishop
but was it sparta?
Posted by: FadedMaster
I'm expecting similar results to 300 as well. 300 was pretty. That's about it. Then again, no one went to 300 expecting a historically accurate account... at least I hope not.
I mean, the group that happened to be at the theatre the same time I went to see 300 were all joking around. "How does it end? I'll tell you how it ends, they all die.... terribly!" And we were cracking jokes the entire time. Mind you, these were people I did not know. haha. So obviously not a very serious crowd.

300 is a comic book movie, not a history channel special.

All I'm gonna say is that they better not kill off Prime like they did in the anime!

So the Transformers movie has taken over a building in Hollywood. Here's a picture from a rooftop (we were actually up photographing the recent fire in the Hills) up the street from my little house in Hollywood.

One side of the building is Autobots, and there's the blue glowing eye, and the other side has Decepticons with a red glowing eye. It's pretty cool.
(there are also more cool pictures we took of the fire here)

Watched it twice... once last Tuesday, once yesterday... will watch it again this weekend...
F*ckin great flick.

I loved it. Saw it Tuesday night. Want to see it again!

Completely awesome. Saw it Saturday night.
I loved all the old throwbacks. "You have failed me yet again, Starscream"
My only complaints were that I total thought that was Soundwave but it turned out to be Frenzy instead, and that Devastator was just one bot instead of being the whole six bot combined.

I saw it opening night. I was surprised the theater wasn't even full. I was also sad there was no techno remix of the old TV show theme song. Still, it brought me back.
