Reusing an Old Video Card

I have an old GeForce 2 MX 400 64MB DDR PCI card here that works. However, the fan crapped out and I removed it so now it's only got the heatsink. I don't want to buy it a new fan, not to mention it would be relatively hard to find one that fits.
It's for a relatively old computer (it's old card crapped out) that does zero graphic intensive work. No games, only browsing the net and music. Is it safe to use it without the fan?

The GF MX cards is'nt any powerhouses, so I'll guess it runs pretty cool.
It may work, depending on your actual case temp. And also how hot the card will be under load?
The problem is, that you have no temp sensor on the MX card. So you will have to watch out for artifacts, lagging and such things instead.
Othervice, Zalman have the VF 700CU / ALU cooler that is pretty cheap and fits your card.

It's $27 at newegg.
Or if you have like a spare 80mm fan, that you can arrange to blow at the vga heatsink?

A lot of people have told me to try it out. In their experience it doesn't ruin the card at all, and that I should be ok if I don't try to do anything 3D. It confirms what I thought. The card hasn't been in use for a year or two so it's not like I lose anything.
And besides, for $27 I can get a new, BETTER card. :\
