Webcam problem/USB malfunction

Ok I bought a new webcam recently.

So far trouble lol.

I installed drivers from CD, restarted, then plugged the camera in. At first it seemed to find it, but as I went to preview the picture, it showed it, then about 5 seconds later, it just froze ( the window). So I went to the website to download new drivers, still it freezes. So I decided to unplug it and replug it, then it said USB Malfunction. Ive went too all the USB root in the drivers and unchecked, allow windows to turn off to conserve power. Still nothing, does the same thing, also I have both the mobo USB hubs as well as a PCI card USB hubs not working.

Anyone have any solutions?

So you've tried all the ports and nothing? Who's the manufacturer of the webcam? Do other USB devices give you similar errors? Only time I've had those kinda errors was due to a motherboard failing. You could try moving the PCI card to a different slot to see if that works. Also, did you clean the drivers out completely before using the newest version from the manufacturer's website?

Well i got it working, someone said stuff, lol I just pulled the other USB plugs from my usb slots (MP3 Players) and it worked, he said when you have that in...the computer thinks its charging...something else or something. But it works! so yea.

USB webcams tend to hoard most of the available USB bandwidth and don't like to share with some other USB devices.
