This is no joke! Head over to Blizzard.com and check it out!

OMG I'm in love!

Has there been any word on a date yet?

according to the FAQ on starcraft2.com (redirected from blizzard.com)

"When is the game coming out?

At this point, it's too early to provide an initial estimate on the release date. As with all Blizzard games, we will take as much time as needed to ensure the game is as fun, balanced, and polished as possible."

I've heard rumours about this for a long time now. A bunch of the WoW guys were chattin' about it in Trade last night. The responses are mixed between, "I don't care, I'd rather see D3," and "Sweet!."

Personally, I get confused when controlling more that a couple people and things aren't turn based, so my strategy on SC to just build up a massive army and send them in attacking never works online and never worked in game for very long. haha.

Unless you've been living under a nice, shady, fully furnished rock the last ten years, you already know what StarCraft is. If you're like me who considers that game one of the best games to come out in that period, then this is probably the biggest news you'll hear this year... Starcraft 2! Finally, a sequel to one of my fave RTS games of all time.

Blizzard Entertainment announced this sequel just now, although they've been hinting at it for almost a year. And the game's slated to come out in 2008 - almost ten years after the original Starcraft was unveiled. Wow, that's a long time to wait for a sequel, man

Just saw the cinematic trailer for Starcraft 2... kinda boring but it somewhat picks up near the end when they showed that montage before the marine says "Hell, it's about time!"

Apt words, indeed. Can't wait to get my gnarled, quivering hands on a copy of the game, bub...

The screenshots look sweet:

If you wanna see the cinematic, you can also download it from there:

Anyway, more details at http://www.starcraft2.com

Well, I'll play WoW until this comes out, and no further than that.

I suppose we can only speculate as to a release date, but we can probably take some hints from Blizzard's track record. It stands to reason that they will want to release the game just in time for the holiday buying season. We can also say with certainty that, a game that isn't even in beta in June, won't be released by Christmas of that year. So, I'd guess they're shooting for a Christmas '08 release.

With that in mind, Blizzard is always late. Historically, that's been a good thing. All games are buggy, but theirs tend to benefit more from delays than anyone elses, in my experience. So, realistically, I'd say first quarter 2009.

I would assume that we would see SC2 around November 2009.
