No need to prove anything to us, I just recommend that if you want discussion about this guy (as you asked for in your original post) you go talk with people who actually know who the hell he is in the first place. It is quite clear that no one here has any idea who or what you're talking about, so "good day" and best of luck finding the discussion you desire elsewhere

It seems as if the people you were addressing this thread to are not who you thought they were. I'm sorry that its hard for you to grasp this fact, but your generation of the OTS channel regulars is virtually unknown by the people who post here. Thus, we are not "in" on the crowd and drama that inherited the place.
Its great that you want to share your thoughts with the world but don't get upset because you aren't getting the reactions you wanted from the people you apparently fantasize about. I don't know how or why you imagined these supposed male-bonding interactions between you, virus, taco, altron and myself, but I would prefer if you just stop including us (or at least me) in your thoughts all together because you're kinda creepy.

I've moved on from there, just as everyone else did who I keep in contact with outside the channel

Someone who can actually hold you accountable for what you say and do, because you can't do that yourself? All I did was make a post on a forum where people might know Virus, and when asked, I just named a few people who I thought would remember him from years ago. Don't get all caught up in names, I'm just trying to see if I should believe him, based upon other people's experience with him.
This really got out of hand, all because 9:35 was a jackass. 9er, you KNOW I love you with all the fiery passion in the world, it's just that sometimes, you could be a little more... euphemistic about certain things. Another cool tip I've got for you is that when you quote someone, try very hard to actually cite that quote in your post, because I really think you're focusing more on me and who I am than I'd like you to. I'd greatly appreciate it if all of those who don't have anything to add to the topic (9er) stop posting on this thread, and if nobody posts, I'll know that Virus is already dead to you all.

Okay :-D So... anyone who actually knows Virus have any thoughts on this? I mean, does anyone know of any other time he's faked a terminal illness? He's done the whole "I'm leaving forever" thing before, and then showed up the next day, but this takes it one step further.
Even if you don't know him, still, share your thoughts on this! And if he is actually dying of cancer, how would it effect an internet friendship? I think we can all agree those Internet friendships are very different than normal friendships, but how does one be supportive and yet still maintain that Internet assholishness that 9er knows so well?

Ehh, you all are projecting, because you would feel the way you're saying I am currently feeling. I'm not, I don't really like any of you, I just wanted to give you an update and to ask for some advice, because for some strange reason, I thought that perhaps someone from OTS.net might know a thing or two about how Virus behaves.
And it was more than brushed by and apologized, or so I thought. My mistake. I likened your experiences with Virus, some of you at least, to more of a "Sat next to the guy in a bar for a year or two, and now, 3-4 years later finding out he might have cancer". Not really surprising, but one of those, "huh..." moments.
Anyway, how should I handle this? Should I say something like, "prove to me you have cancer or I don't care" or should I be sympathetic, and if he turns out to be jerking me around just stop talking to him for a while? Lets try and stay focused.

my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer about a month ago and she starts chemo on friday, and I also learned last week that someone in my family, whom I was very close to as a child, due to colon cancer has 18 months to live. someone most of us didn't talk to but were merely around has going through a crisis, and you know what? he didn't post it here. if it's true (like you yourself don't even 100% believe according to the wording in your post), he has people in his own life that he can and will depend on to get him through it. he doesn't need part time e-friends like yourself spreading his personal issues everywhere. did he ask you to post this here? of course he didn't. I wouldn't like someone spreading my personal issues around without my persmission.
how can you help yourself? whatever the hell your motive is (which by now is far and obviously not to inform us someone's medical condition), abandon it.

I agree with your last statement there, AltronHGX. My aunt died of lung cancer, my grandmother of stomach cancer, a cousin of my mom's of prostate cancer, and they're keeping an eye on my 3rd cousin because both her mother and grandmother died of cervical cancer. Yes, it is possible to get cancer of the eye - but it's extremely rare.

So I name three people who use these forums, then ACCUSE them of never getting on B.net anymore. Then I posit that perhaps Virus also has finger cancer (a reference to the movie posted, in an effort to make light of things).

Before I talk about this post, I would like to make it clear the nature of 9:35's relationship with me.
Back when he still was on B.net, we permanently had each other squelched. Every time he would accidentally forget to squelch me, I would pour over how much I loved him and how much I wished he would unsquelch me, and so on. This was, of course, in jest. I had and have and had any desire to exchange words with this person ever again in my life, and whenever I used to call him "9er", it was in an attempt to piss him off further. I forgot that it had been years, and he might not remember that I HATED him, and thus, still "affectionately" called him 9er. Unfortunately, he attributed this falsely to me somehow actually thinking he was someone I'd like to talk to, and in post 15, he replied to my posts rather forcefully and hatefully, saying that he doesn't remember Virus, and he mistook my post for some type of "hey old buddies, guess which one of our friends has cancer!" post, when clearly, it was anything but.
From there, it just goes downhill, with lots of flaming on both sides, neither side winning anything except humiliation in having an argument over nothing.
I do realize that it's very easy for each of you to do this sort of progression on your own, but the flames I have received in response to my most legitimate of questions are complete out of line and inappropriate, and also show that you really haven't read any of my posts at all. You read 9:35's post, which, totally in character for him and expected by me, tried to make me go huddle in a corner and cry (I did not), and responded based upon his conclusions. Bad idea.
There is one more quote I would like to address again, because I don't think Altron really noticed this one, otherwise, since he claims to be such a nice guy, I think he would not have disassociated himself from me:

Altron, you participated in the Burning Crusades Beta. Do you remember how you got a key to be allowed to play? In case you don't, it was me who sent you that key, because I remembered you to be that guy who used to hang around in OTS for a while while I was there.
