camera wont turn on (help)

this is not computer related at all, but anyway...

The AA batteries in my digital camera were dead. I opened the compartment to take them out. On my desk was a nine volt battery...I was curious >_<, so I touched the 9volt to the 2 AAs while they were still in the camera. The camera turned on very brightly, then off when I untouched the 9volt. Now when I put in new AAs, it wont turn on..

What exactly happened?...Can I fix it?

An AA battery is only 1.5 volts. You most likely killed the camera since it's made to handle 2 1.5v batteries by overloading parts. And no. You probably shouldn't try to fix it. It would probably cost less just to get a new camera. Sort of like repairing a printer would cost 3 or 4 times as much as to replace it. Don't worry. You're not brain damaged. We all do silly things from time to time...

They should make these things with circuit breakers.
