RPG Hack n' slash suggestions.

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm looking for a new hack n' slash RPG game. I loved Titan Quest and the exspansion.
But now I have grown tired of it, and want a new game in the same style with as good graphics as TQ.

Any suggestions?

Hey you can try out Gunz? You use a sword and a gun to hack and slash.. Its not very graphical but a lot of people play it. Another game is survival project. I really like that game. Its a quest/action game. All you do is hack, slash, block and use magic and they are free. Any more questions?

Those games looks pretty nice. But they are on line games.
I should have said single player games before.

Thanks for the tips.

Hack & Slashers? Hmmm...

Game Boy Advance
- Sword of Mana

SNES
- Secret of Mana
- Illusion of Gaia

Playstation 2
- Dark Cloud I and II
- Onimusha I, II and III
- Devil May Cry I, II and III
- Kingdom Hearts I and II
- Star Ocean: Till The End of Time (Enemies roam around and invoke encounters like traditional RPGs, but battle system is Hack & Slash like)

Wii
- Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

N64
- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (or buy it for Wii's Virtual Console)

PC
- Diablo I and II (plus expansions)
- Warcraft III and Warcraft III - The Frozen Throne (at its core it's a Real-Time Strategy, but it has Hero units which can hack&slash, pick up equipment, level up, learn abilities, etc.)
- The Elder Scrolls I, II, III and IV
- Gothic I, II and III
- Neverwinter Nights I and II
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I and II

Xbox 360
- Dead Rising

Gamecube
- Tales of Symphonia (Enemies roam around and invoke encounters like traditional RPGs, but battle system is Hack & Slash like)

Thanks!

That's quite a list there. I will look in to some of those games.

All the games he listed lean a lot more towards the RPG side of things. If you're looking for something that leans more toward the hack and slash side of things, try Dungeon Siege and it's successors. I personally didn't care much for them as I don't really like that much pure hack and slash, but, if that's what you're looking for you will probably like it.

If you're into FPS games the one thing I noticed about the PC version of Halo 2 is that it requires Vista! (Or maybe there's a PC version of it the B&M stores didn't have?)

Another thing I noticed is that my Raptor is getting rather full. Is there any difference speed wise if I switch my two SATA drives around? Right now I have my OS and most of my few games on the Raptor. Would it be as quick if I put the OS onto the SATA2 drive and then put just the games themselves onto the Raptor? I was just thinking about the faster rotational speed v. faster communication since the Raptor is SATA 1, but has the 10,000 RPM.

I heard someone here say, that the best way is to have the games only on the Raptor. And then Windows and programs on another drive.

Have'nt tested this yet. I have both the OS and games on the 36 gig Raptor.

I found another solution. I've put my Windows OS onto the Raptor along with the games and I've put most of everything else onto the Maxtor. It's amazing how much stuff adds up though. My Maxtor drive has just over 73 gigabytes out of the 279 left. Maybe I should start watching the movies I've got on it for time delay purposes. My movie folder takes up nearly 168 gig of it. I think I will still make my next Raptor drive a larger one though. It has only 17.6GB left on it.

I put Windows and my games on my Raptor. Music, movies, photographs, back ups, things like that are all on my external 500GB (which is filling up fast). And then I use my 250GB to store software and source code. I have yet to fill my Raptor though. I try to keep it pretty minimal.

I'm not sure what the true "definition" of a hack n slash game is, but I've been playing Jade Empire lately and am enjoying it.

For Hack and Slash, take a look at Sacred. It's a little corny, but lot's of hacking and slashing.

Thanks for the tip. I already have the first Sacred. But it never really made my toes curl.

Yeah, I have head some good stuff about Jade Empire. Thanks for reminding me about it. I will look a bit deeper into that game.

I'm not a totally hack n' slash addict. I like normal RPG's just as well. But I loved Titan Quest so much, I whas hoping to find a equally good such game again.
