WGA failing for some Vista users

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

This is unofficial but there have been a good number of people coming home to find their Vista desktops locked out because of a Windows Genuine Advantage failed check. Rumor has it that it has to do with one of the latest updates. Some even have reported a second failure after being reactivated by MS phone tech support. So if you are having Vista WGA issues, a fix should come out fairly quickly considering the severity of such an issue.

UPDATE: Seems the Vista WGA forum is swamped with disgruntled users. http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine...=1004&SiteID=25

Wow. Another example of DRM and copy protection affecting honest users. Shocker.

Looks like it is a server problem:

After several email excahnges with Microsoft on validation problems, I just received this:

Thank you for your response.

I’m sorry to inform you that the Windows Genuine server might be down for few days. I have escalate the issue to our Genuine team, kindly try to validate again on Tuesday 28 Aug 2007.

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Technical Support.
