Just saying hi from hot and humid Japan. I can't run the damned AC because it's too ****ing expensive. It would cost ~$160 per night to keep it on. People will be moving in to my dorm soon, but now all I can hear are traffic, cicadas, and the occasional bullfrog. I'm definitely a Stranger in a Strange Land. Now for pics:
Me in Osaka airport:

Me in Kyoto Station:

The view from the back of the school:

The love hotel framed by dong trees in the front :

I'll try and post more soon.

D:
Is electricity really expensive in Japan? Seems odd for a country full of giant robots and futuristic gadgetry.

You see, the giant robots get first use of the power grids, and they get it at no cost or they would flatten the whole country. We get the left-overs. From there it's all supply and demand.
Fun Fact: You often see giant robot egg clutches in the cities and scattered along roads.
Example:

They have developed a symbiotic relationship with humans where they take raw material needed for gestation (in the form of coins), and release waste material (in the form of tasty beverages).
