The DNS servers you use from your ISP are for the most part slower than they should be. Enter OpenDNS. OpenDNS is a free DNS server service you can use that is most likely faster than your ISP's DNS servers. Try it out. It's easy to switch back if it doesn't do anything for you.

OpenDNS is pretty nifty. It used to be faster than my ISP's DNS, but then they did some updates and such and now OpenDNS isn't quite as fast. Although... OpenDNS does have some phishing blockers and such, which makes it pretty handy.

Or just use you corprate companies DNS which is locate on triple (three of each) DS3 OC3 and T3's ^_^.

All phun aside i have used opendns before. I usually recommended to any of the business owners i know for a solid backup DNS system. Also set it to point to it, if i'm working on thier servers/computers. THe anti-plishing, anti-adult site, seems to be a good feature they like once i show them how to manage it.
