I belive, some of you will be in for a nice surprice and a bad one eventually.
The image quality is impressing. Even in DX 9.0. I can imagene what it will look like in DX 10!
But this is what you could exspect from Crytek, the makers of Far Cry.
The story line is very much Far Cry, with a touch of Halo you can say. And the action scenes, does'nt leave much to wish for.
The downside, is that you will need a very powerful card to be able to run most of, to all of the eye candy.
I did run it at my 8800GTS 320mb. with 4X AA and 8X AF. No V sync in 1024 X 758 resoloution. And got an average of 47 FPS! I did run the game at medium settings.
My factory overclocked 7950GT in my other rig. Just made 38 FPS average!
Same AA etc as the 8800GTS. And the game settings, all on medium.
I have Windows XP in both my pc's.
So I seriously consider getting a 8800GT 512mb....at least.
Cuz, if the future games have about the same demands as Crysis. The 8800GT 512mb, will be the minimum card for gaming on higher quality settings! Or maybe, the full game (out in November) will be slightly kinder to one's hardware? Let's hope so.
Also, swap out your video card driver for the Forceware 169.01 if you have a Geforce card. This driver, is specially designed for Crysis. It comes for XP 32 & 64 bit and Vista 32 and 64 bit. The XP 32 driver wich I use, looks and performs very good in other games too btw.

Do not forget to uninstall your present driver in "add / remove programs"!
Maybe also, you should run driver cleaner pro after you have uninstalled the old driver as a safety precausion.

Driver Cleaner Pro, does not officially support Vista. But seems to work anyway. At least from what I have heard.
