Wow Dc

Hey guys.

Hope all are well

Problem.

Since last patch in WOW. I am frequently DC'ing particularly while in instances.

I can immediately pop back in (8-10 seconds). It seems to happen in the same places often.

System. built in 2005
DFI lanparty NF4 series motherboard
AMD athlon 64 Winchester 3500+
ATI X 800 XL
2 sticks of 512 unbuffered Corsair ram
My disks are barely 50% full. 400 gigs
I use realtek on board audio.

No overheating
Comp has always run like a charm.
No problems with comp or internet atm

What I have done:

1. Erased all game temporary files
2 I use no addons (except a small necessary one)
3. I used the Wow repair tool
4. I defragged.
5 Diskchecked
6. Dxdiagnosed
7. Updated drivers on video card and m board
8. updated direct X
9. reduced the game quality for performance
10. I have minimum processes running in background
11.

A. When I went to Device Manager, under network adapters, I had to reinstall [Net adaptor] and [nVidia nForce controller] drivers from the original installation CD.(they were missing)
But I could not install/reinstall the [Ethernet Controller] driver. When I tried with the original CD, it would not let me. I tried several times. MS search from device manager cannot find anything. It is not accepting whatever is on installation CD as compatible. (.inf file is not what was being called for)

B. I have not checked if the necessary ports have somehow shut down (port forwarding?)

Darn.......
It still crashes at very inopportune times.

C. I could uninstall and reinstall the game.

D. Someone suggested I get a new router or update the router. (from 2003)
E. I was told to change IP address. (release & renew)
F. Also was told it could be my memory sticks somehow conflicting.

The game has run smoothly for 2 years.

Any ideas or suggestions.

Thanks in advance

Elfraj

Update.
