MS Office serious issues

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hello,

Here is a perplexing issue. I cannot save in MS Word, Excel or other Office programs. When i hit the Save As button, nothing works, no error messages, nothing! It just does nothing. When i try to close up the document and it prompts me to save, i hit save and nothing happens, it just takes me back to the document.

Do i have a virus or something that affects Office programs?

Thanks.

It could be a virus or a registry problem. Windows XP, is very "good" at messing up the registry. And I would'nt be surpriced if Vista is too.

Download a registry repair / cleaner software.

This is only a trial, that only repair a few faults a per scan. So, if you have'nt runned a registry repair before? You may have quite many scannings / repairs to do.

And also, do a multiple virus scanning. First your own anti virus (updated). And then a couple of on line ones like these:

It could be a good idea, to run Spybot too.

I've seen unlicensed copies of office get errors after certain updates. Try to install a copy of office right over top of the old one and see what happens. There shouldn't be any changes to your settings and the necessary registry entries will be restored. That is, if Spybot doesn't turn any bad guys up. Even if it does, it may still be necessary to reinstall office.
