Missing MSIMG32.DLL

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Finally! The forums are back! :-)

My friend bought C&C 3: Tiberium Wars, but when he tries to run it, it tells him that MSIMG32.DLL is missing.

He has Vista 64-bit, which I'm guessing has something to do with the problem. I tried downloading MSIMG32.DLL and putting it in his system32 folder, but it still didn't work. We also tried putting it directly in the game's folder.

Any advice?

I found this:

Quote:

It belongs in your "C:\WINDOWS\system32" folder
There should be a copy of it in your "C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386" folder.

If that fails, restore it from the CD:

Click Start, Run. In the Run box, type "msconfig" without the quotes and
press enter. On the "General" tab, click the "Expand File..." button.

File to restore: MSIMG32.DLL
Restore from: Point to the Windows XP CD's "I386" folder
Save file in: C:\Windows\system32\ #

Hope this will help?

Think Vista uses some serious file protection for system files. Going to have to find the Vista workaround.
