I want to hook my xbox to my pc (ethernet) while my pc connects wirelessly to my router. So i googled and i found that link, but don't get much out of it, not sure what a gateway is. It would be nice for some help. Also is it cheaper then buying the Microsoft's xbox wireless adapter.

hi!
Hey matt you can connect ur xbox with a cat 5 cable to an extra wirless router and config it to recieve from your other router

Best way to connect your xbox will be with a cat5 cable to your router. Cat5 cable is cheap and reliable; aswell it wont be affected by interference from cordless telephones, large metal objects, microwaves, and rc toys.

If your router is wireless, you can get microsoft's wireless adapter. This is fairly easy
You can uses a second router as a repeater for your wireless network, and then run a cat5 from the second router to your xbox. This is a bit more advanced, and depends on what functions your second router has (Some can not do this).
Instead of using a wireless router as a repeater, I would find a wireless switch. This would be a bit easier than using a second router.

I would still consider running an actual cat5 cable though. It will probably cost as much as a second router anyways.

I heard good things about the wireless adaptor for 360 by microsoft. However, linksys's game adaptor is just as good and can connect to other game systems besides xbox360. Try that instead of microsoft's version.
