in the sense that it doesn't seem to exist anymore.

The one and only time I've bothered to use wireless for this laptop was a couple of months ago on a road trip in a hotel, everything worked flawlessly.

Was dicking around in the middle of nowhere last night attempting to get signal when I realized the machine didn't even seem to have a wireless device installed.

I certainly didn't do this, so something has gone horribly wrong somewhere.

Already tried the driver reinstallation nonsense, doesn't seem to have any effect.

probably faster just to format the beast, I need a music partition anyways.

however if anyone has run into this sort of situation I'm curious to know what the dilly is, yo.

I ran into a similar issue with my Toshiba laptop... the soundcard and wireless built-in went out. So I ended up getting a Turtle Beach USB sound card and a PC Card for wireless.

I ran into a similar problem. I was trying to setup a wireless network, but I couldn't get Windows to recognize any wireless card I tried to install. Reinstalling Windows fixed it

yeah, it's either an internal hardware failure, an external hardware failure, or windows went stupid.

the third is more likely than the second, which is more likely than the first, but who knows.

Got to do a bunch of stuff before I format this, but when I get around to it I'll see what's up.
