XP Install problem

Trying to reinstall XP on a relatively new machine that went funny and when I run the XP install disc it gives me a cannot format the HD error. The HD checks out as error free and it's a 160GB SATA version. I'm tempted to extract it and try an format it on a working machine.

Weird, fixed it by putting the drive in another machine, formatting in Windows then putting it back and doing a normal reinstall.
