Restore Query

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

As you can see I run two HDD, on the second I keep personal files, medical, Db etc and all working files. All system and application files are kept on first HDD.

The query is, I was trying to partition a mobile Lacie HDD to enable a back up, but by error wiped the primary and first logical drive on the second HDD. Can I use SYSTEM RESTORE in order to recover or is all lost?

Help urgently required please, while I try and file a Back up CD I know I made a while ago !!

Found that I had really wiped the entire primary and logical drive without a hope of recovery. So have had to reformat. Unfortunately my backup disk (obviously I didn't check!) didn't burn so I have lost everything.
Reminder to all MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP REGULARLY and if you burn a disk, check that it really has burnt what you need!!

Wish I had seen your post earlier. There are ways of restoring those partition tables but after the format it'd be dodgy

a system restore will only restore registry entries. if you deleted stuff, that wont help. you would need a recovery program.

There are geeks who recover data that has been deleted. If I'm not mistaken they charge about $80 per gigabyte of recovered files.

Otherwise, as Redwench has said, you can buy the software and recover it yourself.

after the format you're looking at higher paid geeks lol. Not worth the trouble.
