I was wondering if I should purchase a Diamond Viper ATI Radeon HD 2600XT. It's only 59.99 USD and free shipping. Is it worth it? What are your suggestions?

It's a pretty decent card in DX 9.0. But a bit too weak for DX 10. ATI, made the same misstake as Nvidia when releasing their cheaper, midrange 8600GT and 8600GTS. They made it with a 256mb - 128 megabit memory bus. This means, as soon as you run higher resoloution than 1280 x 1024 or 900 x 1400 widescreen res. The card is going to get a memory performance penalty.
And the 8600GT is faster than the HD 2600XT. So if you can find such a card for about the same price? Buy it instead. The 8600GT is pretty much a 7600GT in DX10 flavour.
Edit.
You can get this XFX 8600GT with a free Company of heroes game for 70 bucks.

Or if you want a more silent and with better cooling (Zalman cooler premounted) + factory overclocked card?

Thanks for the reply, they do seem like a good deal. The only thing that im concerned of is the rebate. Sometimes I hate dealing with it but that should not be a problem. For the extra 10 dollars I could get the zalman cooler. I wonder which one I should get.
Edit:
Should I be looking forward to dx 10 cards even though I dont have vista?
I just found a deal on newegg for the same card. 65$ after rebate for the same card. But it does not come with a free game which is valued at 20 dollars.
Overall newegg has a better deal for 95 dollars. Free shipping and after rebate it will be 65 dollars. I guess there is no need for a free game.
On tigerdirect it will be a total of 108 dollars in total. After rebate it will 78 dollars.

Get the one with the Zalman if you wanna have the best and most silent cooling.
Only the Zalman cooler (VF 700 Alu), is worth 27 bucks ( at newegg) And you also get a little faster card than normal.
The 8600 card will handle DX 9.0 games better, than the DX 9.0 corresponding card, wich is 7600GT.
Buildt for DX 10. The 8600GT can handle bigger pixel clusters. I play DX 9.0 games only too. On a 8800GT lol.

Newegg, wants 110 bucks for the XFX 8600GT with the Zalman btw.

This MSI 8600GT (Factory overclocked) seems very nice too. Seem to have a good cooler and is cheaper than the Zalman XFX card.

Here is a Gigabyte card with a Zalman for 103 bucks too.

The cards are very tempting to buy. But I will wait for the 40 dollar rebates to come by.

Yeah, maybe that's the best approach.
