Team Fortress 2 'Random loss of FPS'
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

So I recently installed TF2 on my computer, after playing for a while it randomly started to feel incredibly laggy and I just lose a ton of FPS. This happens at ANY time. I can be in the middle of a super heavy fight or looking into a wall. I've tried looking around the net for any answers and it seems like others are having the same issues but no respones/fixes.
I've tried lowering the settings, playing windowed, changing things around, nothing seems to be working. Case is relatively cool and its getting pretty cold here anyways so I doubt its heat and I've opened the case when it happens and nothing is hotter than whenever its running smoothly.
It's just really weird and most of all frustrating getting this to happen so randomly.
Oh yeah system specs (fairly old-ish):
AMD 3500+ 2.21GHz
2.0 GB Ram
nVidia 7600GS
2x 250GB WD HDDs
Windows XP SP 2
etc if any other info is needed let me know...
Please help and thank you

So far what I got...but I'll post my findings about the hardware side of the card....never buying eVga's again -_-

Why not evga? they are a realy good brand.
Your cpu is running pretty hot.

Ok so..... this is what happened, I just bought a new DVD writer today and after I installed it i turned on the computer and noticed that my video card's fan wasn't spinning (While the computer was on *GASP*) how I didn't notice this before ... I really have no clue.
So I began to spin the fan around and noticed that it wasn't loose and it felt like it was crushing something inside so i was like O_o and decided to operate.
I found this: http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/...riented/000.jpg

None of these parts were attached, and I'm sure the black mark ment that at one point there was a fire <_<"

SOOOOOOOOOOO I ended up taking my older 6600XT (yes xt and it too is from eVga as which randomly died one day and is the reason I got my 7600GS from eVga as well because I knew they were a good company to go with but /shrug ) and tried to replace my 7600's fan/heatsink but they didn't match and I wasn't able to attach it directly, so... I decided to pop out the fan and pop it into my 7600:

Popped that into my computer, fan wasn't turning, popped off the front (black aluminum cover thing) and now its spinning fine so I assumed eVga put it on too tight and that killed my old fan?? And now I'm sure the airflow isn't as effecient but something is better than nothing...
Also I do have a spot-cooler in that area so I assume thats why my video card didn't exactly burst into flames.....
Was a good, fun 2 hours of a fan transplant but the operation was a success and I'm ok for now. Hope it was a good read for some ?
Now I'm gonna test TF2 to see if it still lags....was just surprised others were having the same issue...guess there cards might have overheated? >_>
[edit]Ps. sorry for quality, phone cam!
[edit]Oh yeah I'm pretty sure that voided the warranty and other stuff but /shrug I had my fun.
