Notebook for College

Aight peoples. the task: a small notebook for a student going to college. doesnt really need to play games, however it'd be nice (im thinking a nvidia geforce 8400M GS at most)
i'd like a backlit keyboard like the Macbook air, but it isnt required. i'd buy the Air if it wasnt $1800. here's what i've found so far to give u an idea: i'd like a 13.3 inch screen down to a 11 inch screen at smallest. gotta have some processing power, with 2gb ram and vista if possible. the price point is really about $1,000. here's the one's ive found:
dell:

the XPS M1330. has 13.3 inch display. weighs 4lbs and can have a 8400M GS. con's: its a dell. (i noticed they put this in the "best buy outlet" on bestbuy.com...are they coming out with a new one? idk)
toshiba:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...4#productdetail
the satellite U400. 13.3 inch display. weighs a bit more than the dell at 4.9lbs. it looks cool, but the glossy display shows your fingerprints alot.

i dont kno if theres anything new coming out... im not really leaning for one over the other, but more alternatives. any ideas would be great. thanks!

There are a few models coming out getting ready for summer back-to-school sales. You might be able to catch a good clearance price right now, or a good back-to-school sale.
