Sony cracks down on Mod Chip Industry

From Quarter to Three, who got the news originally from RPM Games:
Sony Computer Entertainment has issued cease and desist letters to two major 'Mod Chip' manufacturers in an attempt to stop the modification devices from being released. Channel Technology, and Neo Technologies are responsible for a number of devices that circumvent Playstation 2 protection measures and allow people to play copied games and movies. Both Channel Technology and Neo Technologies have taken down their sections dealing with Playstation 2 modification, and it appears as if they do not plan on fighting Sony's actions.
