Is the registered version of Gamespy Arcade worth it?

I was checking out Gamespy Arcade and it seems like its a pretty good little prog. I tried out a few games with it and the servers were better than what I could find with the game by itself. Anyways, would it be worth it to buy it?

Something I dont understand though: Is it a one time fee of $20 or is it like $20 per year? If its a one time fee, I more than likely will get it.

ive played on gamespy, its ok. but i wouldnt pay money unless i absolutely had to. they are notorious for spyware and selling your info.

Gamespy sucks, you should rather burn the money. It's evil, end of story.
Try out the all seeing eye, no fee, no ads, no bullsh!t 50 hidden links for a download with 4 popups windows.

The only drawback on the free version is that the ads linger on your screen a little too long....

But yeah, I think it's an alright little app. I liked the simplicity of Gamespy3d a little better though...

Gamespy is just here for your money. Period.

All businesses are "just here for your money." It says nothing bad about GameSpy to reiterate this. If you started some Internet-based business, wouldn't you try to profit from it?
And "evil"? GameSpy Arcade is a good product for free. The free version lets you set filters, name favorite servers, and generally browse servers easily and intelligently. The only real advantage to paying for it would be the elimination of those annoying ads; some of them (like that silly Radeon ad with the bare-bellied model who wears a fake Radeon tattoo) actually bleat bad noise through your speakers even if you turn all GameSpy sound off, which is pretty offensive. I don't think it's worth buying, though. I only hope they can stay afloat, because I'll bet most of the gamers feel the same way I do.

Gamespy? phhfft... All seeing eye? Maybe.
I use (Used) Kali. Its not great for looking for games to play, but if you have a whole bunch of friends who get together to game, its exellent.

And BTW, Kali is Free for a limited time right now. Seems the owners of kali went out of bussiness, but a few good people are keeping the service alive, and giving away temporairy codes.
