Uninstalling Issues.

I'm having a problem with uninstalling a couple of programs on my computer that's running Win98se...

Before I knew how to correctly uninstall software on my computer, I used to manually search for the files and go into C: programs and delete the folders. I realize now that that was really stupid of me, and I know now to use the Add/Remove Programs tool.

When I try to remove those two programs from the Add/Remove Programs list now, an error message pops up saying that the files no longer exist.

This is all fine and dandy if I wanted to just keep the programs off indefinitely, but the problem I'm running into now is that I want to reinstall one of the programs I "manually" took off...

When I try to reinstall the program, I get an error message from that program saying that program already exists on my computer, YET IT DOESN'T.

I'd like to know how to get rid of those programs from the Add/Remove Programs list, so that I can reinstall this program.

Thanks for your help in advance.

-Indy.

in Regedit, go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
delete the program you don't have from the list

or you can download tweak UI here http://www.microsoft.com/ntworkstat...g/NTTweakUI.asp

In Tweak UI you can delete those program entries in your add/remove program lists. Does not however un-install the program, just the listing.
