now i can't save any online photos in jpeg. only allows me to save in bloatmap format.

i've checked the JPEG file setting in My Computer > View > Folder Options > File Types Tab > Edit with JPEG selected > Set Default Button and that's ok.

on a dell 333 celeron with 352k and win 98.

What program are you using? Not all programs support the JPEG format.

I'm viewing on explorer 5 and go to right click on a photo and only the bitmap option is available. Worked find until a couple of weeks ago.

I'm not sure about this but I think IE only saves the pic in the format it is already in, so if you got a site with a .BMP in it, you can't save it as a .JPG, only as .BMP.

No it gives you the choice and my default is set a jpeg but it still will not save as such. Like I said all was working fine in Explorer until just recently.

Thanx for the input though.

Actually I noticed the same thing with mine. I think one of the IE security updates made it that way. I'll look into it further..

Hey now that makes sense since I just recently updated some security plugs.

Let me know what you find out.

Thankx
