resizing desktop

I installed the newest detonator drivers for my geforce 2 yesterday. Now whenever I open up Diablo 2 all the icons on my desktop are scrunched up like it had been resized to 640*480. I haven't tried this with any other games yet, but this also happened when I ran the DirectX video tests. I don't know which test caused it because a browser wind was blocking the desktop. I'm guessing this is the right forum to post this.

Try this: Choose the appearance tab in display prop.
Click the item field, then horiz spacing & set it to 43, then do the same for the vertical spacing.
The invisible grid is also controlled by the icon pixel size, of which 32 is standard.
in other words an icon of 32 pix+ the spacing of 43=75. The invisble grid will be 75 pix high & 75 pix wide.
This the default size for small fonts.

Try installing the latest DirectX. Sometimes that is needed to insure proper compatability with a newer driver.

Grab the latest directX here.. www.microsoft.com/directx

After that, grab the latest WHQL 21.83 nVidia drivers and install them next.

www.nvidia.com

The scrunched up icons happen when DirectX fails to resize the desktop back to its default setting. Usually because a game will use a different setting than what the game or program runs in. The right driver combo should fix it. If not, setting your desktop to the same size as the game uses should prevent the resizing problem.
