Download "Restrictions"

For some reason I can't download & save ANYTHING.

A "Restrictions" window pops up that says: This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

Was able to yesterday and, of course, I didn't change anything...

I'm running WinMe w/IE 6.0 - any ideas?

Thanks much!

Try this:

Open the registry editor by going to start>>run>>regedit.
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software/policies/microsoft/internet explorer/restrictions
Open that folder.
On the right hand side look for the entry: NoBrowserOptions

If you find that value, right click and delete it.

Let us know how you make out.

Also, you may want to run a virus check. Someone else had a problem like this and they had a virus. Anyway give it a try.

Virus scan came up clean. Couldn't find the registry entry you advised but I did a little digging and found NoSelectDownloadDir key in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions

Changed it to 0 from 1 and now I can download & save.

Thanks for the help!

Glad it worked out. Good Luck!
