Final idea on getting my driver problem fixed
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

For some reason, any nVidia drivers on my computer will not install correctly, meaning that I do not get the "device selection" tab or the "color correction" tab or any other tabs that are included with the nVidia drivers. On top of this when I turn up hardware acceleration for the graphics card, it freezes on the desktop. I have addressed all issues except this one-->
My motherboard supports ATA-100 hard drives. The one I am using on my computer is a Maxtor D740X which is a ATA 133 Hard Drive. Windows runs fine on it but could there be a problem installing the the nVidia drivers on it because or the specifications of the hard drive being ATA133 when I have an ATA 100 motherboardboard?
Here is my previous post below, and I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the nVidia drivers "correctly" with still no success. I also addressed any IRQ or BIOS issues.
----------------------------------------------------
I am still having problems getting my new computer running correctly. I have narrowed it down to an AGP or driver problem. Please refer to my other post in the list to understand my overall problem. http://www.opentechsupport.net/foru...=&threadid=4608 .I have found out some new things that are listed below. You wont really understand this post unless you have read the other one.
When I install the nVidia drivers I dont have the special nVidia tabs like "device selection", "direct3d", "opengl" and so on. On the desktop I right-click then do "properties", click the "settings" tab, then click on "advanced" and it doest have the nVidia logo there. My Geforce 2 GTS has an s-video out, so there "should" be a device selection tab along with other ones that come when you install the nvidia drivers. So are the drivers not installing right? Am I installing the drivers incorrectly. I uninstall old drivers first, then I install the nVidia drivers. The nvidia drivers must be installed somewhat because I can raise the resolution and have "true color" which Windows default drivers do not offer, but there are few tabs to choose from and there are no "opengl" options" or "directs 3d options" as well as no nVidia logos anywhere. Hopefully this will give you some clues as to what my problem might be.And yes, the computer still freezes on the desktop when I boot with "hardware acceleration" turned up Thanks.

I followed the instructions that the site gave me and I still have the same problem. I noticed something else though, tell me if this means anything. I ran "msinfo32", then clicked on compnents, and then clicked on problem devices, this is what came up. Also, this is with only the Windows display adapters as my drivers.

With this amount of problems, I find it quite possible that you have a bad video card. I suggest you try returning it and getting a replacement.
Oh, and running an ATA133 drive on ATA100 is no problem, they are backwards compatible. You could run it at ATA33 if you really wanted. It'd be slow as hell though

Have you tried the latest Asus drivers to see if those work?

i have swapped out the graphics card with another GeForce and the same thing happens. I also have tried using the latest Asus drivers with the same results. Looks like its RMA time. Thanks for the help though.
