Make sure that your computer meets or exceeds the minimum requirements for Ghost Recon. Ghost Recon REQUIRES a 16MB DirectX 8 compatible 3D accelerator video card. Also make sure you have the updated video drivers for your card.
Check for drivers here
Some system specs would be helpful.

i dont have a 16mb directX 8 compatible 3D accelerator video card. can you give me any names of some decent, but not too expensive one's.
i have a compaq presario /w a pentium 3 & windows ME. i dont know much about computers so i have no idea what elese i got in it. i do know that i meet the requirements for ghostrecon, except for the video card.
i just figgured that i would turn the settings way down on this game like i did for return to castle wolfenstein, but ghostrecon wont even let me that far.
so i just need 16mb directX 8 compatible 3D accelerator video card and that should solve my problem?
if you need any more system spec's i need a link to that thing that gives pc info. i forgot what it was called
. thanks.

Mike,
Just got a GeForce 2 MX200 nvidia32mb graphics card at Best Buy for $80 and ghost recon runs great with it. Its made by VisionTek and says XTASY 5332 on the box. Very easy to install even for a dork like me. haha

i was just looking at the min. requirements for Max Payne and it has a 16 mb directX 3d compatible graphics card, the same i would asume for Ghostrecon. i never had any problems running Max Payne, so why can't i play ghostrecon? is there any way to turn all the graphics down in ghostrecon whithout getting to the options menu? since every time i try to run the game i get that error that i told you about would there be another way around it without having to be at the main menu of the game?

Not sure Mike about turnng down the graphics, but If your computer meets or exceeds the minimum requirements in every way and you are still receiving this error message, please make sure that you have the latest drivers installed for your video and sound card. Thats all I could come up with, if I hear anything that would help with this I will post it.
Sorry..... Good Luck!!
