Technology, It Just Gets Better And Better!
Microsoft will demonstrate on Monday a tablet-shaped device that will serve as a bridge between the TV, the PC and the company's .Net services, according to sources familiar with the plans. Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates is expected to show off the device, known as Mira, during his eHome presentation Monday at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The device is effectively a cross between a Pocket PC-based handheld computer and a TV remote control. Sources said Mira will use Microsoft's Terminal Server, software that governs the exchange of data between a computing device and a central server.

Hey! I am still waiting for all those Web smart appliances.
Can you imagine the thrill of having your refrigerator send diagnostic reports to the manufacture and automatically ask for a visit from the local repair man!
The coffee maker that can surf with the best of them!
The Can opener that, with the right plug ins, can control the house lights!
The people next door who needs to call tech support to hook up their brand new tv because of the 105 jacks found on the back (serial, USB, analog/digital speaker, RJ45, Firewire, etc..). Ha! you would think they could read the printed documentation right....buts its found online!
Oh the glory of Internet ready appliances...I can't wait...and hope they come out soon..for its been 4 years now that I am waiting!
And remember, they will make the PC obsolete!

Nobody is going to spend the extra money for that crap. The only thing that sounds cool is maybe the kitchen sink activating right after you flush the toilet.
