DirectX8- everyone knows it causes problems with older games running on older versions of Direct X- Is there some easy way to switch back and forth from older to newer drivers and vice versa without major changes? right now I've got a bunch of games that run great on version 7 but wont run on 8- yet i have a few that will only run on 8- !#@!#*!@ So what do you do? Why cant Microsoft design an interface where you can just click which driver you'd like to use for a certain program and voila! too easy??? Anyone with any solid advice pls help!! thanks

they did fix some issues with the latest version. 8.1 or whatever it is. check and see if you have the latest one.

Check with the website of the games you have trouble with and see if they have a patch for DirectX 8 yet. Sometimes older games were made when the older versions of Direct X were in place. This would cause problems if new versions of Direct X is modified a great deal.
