Think you can't find a decent PC for less than $1,000? Cnet.com has four PCs that deliver the goods.
We're always on the lookout for affordable, entry-level PCs that don't necessarily saddle you with cut-rate hardware and endless compromises. Even though these budget systems won't make you the envy of your friends and neighbors, they're perfectly acceptable for most basic computing applications.
For power users on a budget, the iBuyPower system is the clear choice, with its Pentium 4 core and pixel-pushing video card. The ABS and Gateway machines, meanwhile, offer better speakers and monitors as well as LAN adapters for those considering broadband. Choose the Gateway if you want a CD-R/RW drive and a software suite, but the ABS is better if your preferences are a DVD drive and a lengthy warranty.

Those computers look decent, especially that last one.

That 3rd one would make a good server, especially after overclocking it and adding some ram.

Overclocked machines aren't good servers. Not unless you mind your server dying at a very young age.

Oh, didnt know overclocked servers arent any good. But anyways, I think that would make a good server with a little more ram.

Try the Dell refurb section on their page i sometimes get comps there for work. like 448$ last nite for a P4 comp with 256ram DVD cdrw and 20gig HD. comes with a onsite 3 year gaurantee. it breaks they come to ur house or business next day to fix it. if ur looking for a quality cheap comp dell refurb is what i would do.
