WarCraft III Beta Signup Begins Tonight

5,000 beta slots open to players from the United States and Canada
Beginning Monday evening, January 7th, individuals residing in the United States or Canada will have the opportunity to register for their chance to be one of 5,000 players chosen to play-test Warcraft III®: Reign of Chaos™. These players will be the first to experience the new Real-Time Strategy Game from Blizzard.
The beta signup is scheduled for a 24-hour period on www.blizzard.com, beginning on Monday, January 7th at 11:00 p.m Pacific Standard Time (GMT -8), and ending on Tuesday, January 8th at 11:00 p.m Pacific Standard Time (GMT -8). Following the registration period, we will randomly select 5,000 testers based on a variety of system configurations and locations. Please note that multiple submissions will result in disqualification.
Those of you who want to take a crack (pardon the pun, hehe) at the beta should stay up a little late tonight, especially for you East Coasters out there...

Hmmm, both Blizzard and Battle.net sites are down ... I mean, really down, like 404 Page Not Found down ... maybe they're preparing for the midnight beta signup deluge

Hehe...my system does not meet the requirements for the beta signup
Blizzards requirements:
-Your computer must be at least a Pentium III 600 (or equivalent), with 128 MB RAM or more.
-Your computer must have a mouse, 400 MB of available hard drive space, a 4X CD-ROM or faster, a 32 MB 3D accelerator card with Direct3D support, a DirectX compatible 16 bit sound card, a 28.8 modem (or better) with Internet connectivity, and DirectX 8.1.
-You must be running Windows 98, 98SE, 2000 (running with local Administrator privileges), ME, or XP to play the Warcraft® III: Reign of Chaos™ beta on your system.
-Your Internet connection must be capable of running 32-bit Windows socket applications (such as Microsoft Internet Explorer).
-You must have a valid e-mail address.
Lets see I have a Celeron 600
16mb vid card
8 or 16-bit sound card
Direct X7
hmm...I better be alowed to do. it...All new games systems requirements are to high.

Well took me 20 mins, but finnaly got signed up.
Had to "resend information" about 10x on each page, but I got through.
