Bothell, Washington-based Microvision (Nasdaq: MVIS) has begun shipping a new display system that the company says lets users keep their eyes focused straight ahead on their work -- no hands needed. The head-worn Nomad Personal Display System offers a high-resolution display that presents images and information to the user in a see-through or "head-up" mode. It allows for hands-free access to information such as diagrams, maps and training manuals in situations where the user is on the go or cannot focus attention effectively in more than one direction.
Richard Duval, Microvision's communications manager, told TechExtreme that the Nomad device takes an image and uses a rapidly scanning laser to project it onto the retinas of the users' eyes.
"It looks to the user sort of like a hologram, where the information appears to be floating in space right in front of their eyes."
Yea, I can see it now, walking checking the stocks and "BLAMMMMM" fall right on your face!!
No seriously this is going to open a whole new world of computing. I believe this advancement in the computing world will benefit people in so many ways.

Inevitably, there will be some freak accident involving a 14-wheeler driver fragging some SUV during a riveting sattelite deathmatch leading to a legislature feeding frenzy that will result in more acronyms than you can shake a stick at. However, it opens up a whole new world of slacking off in classes, and I'm all for that
