Diablo II LOD with patch 1.09v loaded
I have been playing the game for almost 2 weeks now off and on. No problems to speek of except when I exit out of the game somtimes the screen goes balnk and I have to hit ESC. Well I finaly made it to DEABLO and beat him and the game lockes up on me! Thought my system may have just made a goof so went back and beat him again and it did the same thing. Freezes up as soon as he dies and then the screen goes blank. I have to shut down my computer and restart to get back into it!
Game is running good on my system have noteced what I think is a glitch. The set items that you find in the game have been showing up duplicates i.e. brest plate gloves sword. Then I go back in to an area and find the same brest plate again.
Any ideas?

I once owned a computer with an AMD-K6 and it wouldn't run D2. Had all the requirements, and no matter how I tweaked it, the game wouldn't run (similar lock-up and blank screen errors as you describe). I took the computer back to the store and a sales guy said it very well could be the processor.
At any rate, the standard suggestions for troubles like yours: Uninstall and reinstall the game. Defrag your hard drive. Make sure you have as few background programs running as possible when you play.
You didn't download any non-Blizzard patches, or any hacks/cheats/trainers, did you? If so, remove them from your system.
Good luck.. and keep us updated!

ok I have updated all drivers for this COMPAQ now and have deleted Diablo II from the computer. I ran a Scan disk and a DEFRAG and then loaded Diablo II and LOD again and then downloaded the 1.09v patch. Went back and killed Diablo again and the computer locked up again. Gave me a error message: Error reading CD rom A0EB-3E13. I also closed all non esential programs so I would have enough memory. Kind of strange the game runs great up untill I kill him off!!!!!

Considering the error, it could be a scratched or dirty CD. Try cleaning it and see if that helps. Also, are you fully installing the game or doing a partial install? Full installs are the best way to go if you have the space for them.
What type of CD-ROM is it? If it's a multibeam drive like the Delta's or Kenwood's, you might be able to update the BIOS for it.

Do have a small blemish on the CD. Im going to try and take it back and see if I can get a new one. The CD drive is a COMPAQ. I do have a Mitsumi R/RW drive on my machine but havent tryed to use it for game yet!
Will try to get new LOD disk and see if it works.
Thanks

still runs slow now and then think its the sared graphics/memory of this computer.
