Unofficial AOL Patch Includes Spyware And Porn

AIM Filter, which was recommended as a temporary solution for the AIM buffer overflows actually contains backdoors and spyware according to This Article in SecurityFocus. It produced cash-paid click-throughs over time intervals, divulged system information, and launched several web browsers to porn sites. Other than that, it blocked the attack. A fix is published by w00w00.org.

W00W00.Org makes some discovery about a problem with AIM... gives AOL all of what? A couple of days to fix it beforereleasing it to the world...but it now turns out that what "WooWoo" suggested as the fix turns out to be spyware containing backdoors - a cash producing click thru program that entertains you with some porn on your browsers every now and then.

LOL!! Looks like WooWoo made a BooBoo!!!
