What method is the best for connecting 2 computers to the internet at the same time using win XP

?networking
?communication cable

I'd have to say networking since communication cable can mean anything.

A pair of network cards and a crossover cable is a good choice. It will give you the best LAN performance and Network cards are pretty cheap now. 30$ for a pair of NIC's. 50$ if you get a LAN kit that comes with a hub.

A hub is nice for LAN parties. You can network 4 or more PC's that way. If you just need 2 then you can use a crossover cable and skip the Hub.

As for using the Internet. Windows Internet Connection Sharing works pretty well and is supported natively in XP.

are you shooting for the cheapest way to do so? What kind of connectio do you have? dial up/ or broad band. With broadband you cant go wrong with a router and two 10/100 base t . Here is some reading for you to do some research and you can decide on your own http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/
