Gigger Worm Alert
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)
Posted by: Canis Lupus
Just received word that yet another worm is in the wild (don't you just love these types of news?)
The worm has been identified as JS.Gigger.A@mm. It is a worm written in Javascript that allegedly "attempts to delete all files on the computer and to format drive C if the computer is successfully restarted." It spreads using Microsoft Outlook (no surprise there) and mIRC.
According to The Register, "Gigger usually arrives with the subject line "Outlook Express Update" and an infected attachment 'mmsn_offline.htm'."
If you believe you are infected, you can go here to find out how to remove it. So beware, be vigilant, and stay tuned for yet another silly worm to escape into the world wide wilderness...

Familiar with the principle of Akum's Razor?
"All things being equal, the simplest solution to a problem tends to be the correct one."
What does everyone think is the simplest solution to this problem? Actually, there are several that are equally simple.

That was my sig for a while. It's Ockham's Razor, not Akum's. Akum is the guy that works at the 7 Eleven down the street..hehe

Wonder if there is anyone on earth that actually learned of that concept from anywhere other than Contact... hehe

Blah. I never knew how to spell it. My AP Chemistry teacher mentioned it several times when we were staring blankly at our labs every Friday.
