Macromedia's Flash virus fix falls short--experts

"Responding to the discovery of the first virus that targets files in the Flash format, Macromedia released a software tool that it hopes will provide users with peace of mind. But virus experts called on the company to do more to address concerns that malicious code authors have unlocked a potent new vector of attack. "Macromedia hasn't plugged the hole yet. They've just made it slightly harder for end-users to launch Flash files," said Graham Cluley, a spokesperson for Sophos Anti-Virus, which discovered the virus Tuesday."
