Dungeon Seige Q&A

Gamespy has some more questions answered about Dungeon Seige by some Gas Powered Games employees. In this edition, they focus on the details of magic use in the game.
GameSpy: Traditionally in CRPGs there is a division between those that can cast spells and those that cannot. Does Dungeon Siege allow a pure melee fighter to cast a spell or two here and there?
Gas Powered Games: As much as that tradition sounded like fun, we think it is more fun to give you choices. Naturally you have to develop these magic-casting skills, so there are still important decisions to make while playing. It is very possible to have a fighter develop enough magic skill to heal others, and themselves included, but it is also possible to use one-shot magic scrolls that do not require a magic skill. If a fighter continues to use a simple spell, you may actually find that they develop enough skill to affect their class, which may be surprising, but it serves as a reminder that to keep a character class pure; you should keep the characters developing the same skill. All of this is entirely up to you!
Read more about magic use in this upcoming Action-Role Playing game from here.
And in case you missed part 1, you can get to that from here. Part 1 covers many different aspects of combat within the game.
