4-Way Speaker Shootout

Dan's Data has a massive review of 4 speaker systems with at least 4 satellites and a subwoofer: Altec Lansing Select 4100, Cambridge SoundWorks FPS1600, Creative Inspire Digital 5700, and the Logitech Z-560. Here's a snip:

Creative's Inspire 5700 has a great control unit, but a big price tag, and ordinary speakers. If it came with speakers as good as those in the Logitech Z-560 kit - even if the subwoofer had the same over-muscularity problem - then the 5700 would be excellent value. As things stand, for $AUD900 or so, it's not. If someone sells it for half that price, it'll be well worth it.

The Logitech Z-560 is a speaker system for bass lovers, but that's not all it is. It's not got the fancy surround modes of the Inspire 5700, but it's got much better speakers and a much better price tag. What's not to like?

I see they left the Klipsch speakers out of it. I guess they wanted a competition..hehe

still havent seen anything that convinces me there is a difference between my 49$ altec lansings with subwoofer or my headphones worth shelling out severl hundred dollars for.
