It's an oldie! But games like this proves that games don't need complex stories or awsome graphics to be fun.

Posted by: Bobaroo

Posted by: Ion Silverbolt

I have it on my C64 Emulator. There's even a program for the Obsidian code wheel.

Posted by: Spider

Legacy of the Ancients?

If so, do you remember Questron 1 and 2 for the Apple anybody.

Posted by: Ion Silverbolt

You win a new GeForce 3! Oops, already have one. Too bad..hehe

Legacy of the Ancients was released back in 1987. Published by Electronic Arts.

I remember and played all the games from Quest Software. I think The Legend of Blacksilver was their last game. Published by Epyx.

Not fair!!! I was only 1yrs old at the time, and noone owned a computer or video game in the house.

hehe, this is back in the Commodore 64 days. Be thankful you get to grow up with Athlons, nVidia, and gaming consoles.

Feeling older than dirt now all of a sudden. First console type thing we had was a pong machine. Hell, My first car came with an AM radio and that was an upgrade option!

I was one of those idiots writing dice throwing and character statistics generation programs on my VIC 20 for D&D games.

Darn it, I am feeling old myself..and I am not even 30 yet! I remember going to the local radio shack and getting Pong for Christmas..that was in 78.

Ok, want to feel retro, then take a look at this site that allows you to bask in the glory of some of Infocoms early to mid 80's text based games. Back then, these games were the height of technology, and I can remember spending hours upon hours playing them. Sadly enough, you don't see their like much anymore. Anyhow, if you go to this site, you can play some memorable titles such as the infamous Zork trilogy, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Bureaucracy, and Leather Goddesses of Phobos….online. Enjoy.

There is an old dos game that I really loved, but I cant remember the name of it. It might have been called "Castle" but im not sure. It was quite crude and used dos icons and what not. Im sure someone knows what it was.

What was the name of it?

Posted by: Bishop

skyhn, there were a lot of games like that, most of thoose kind were BBS games.

Only four I can recall are PIT, Sinbad, Overkill, and Maximum something.

ones I played, anyways.

Posted by: Ion Silverbolt

The game that truely won me over to PC's was Eye of the Beholder. Before that, the only thing fun on the PC was Moria.

I do remember playing those Zork games. I never did manage to finish any of them though. I would always get frustrted with its need to have proper syntax to do what you wanted it to do.

Posted by: Bishop

zork games were good, if a bit complex.

Posted by: JANNA

legacy of the ancients was a lot of fun i still have the code wheel and instruction book but the disks died a long time ago

Posted by: Ion Silverbolt

LOTA's is one of my all time favorites. Most would consider it unplayable today though. I finished it again last week on my C64 Emulator. The story alone made that game rock.

If you want to try it out again, I have the files and a code wheel generator. I don't think Electronic Arts would mind. They probably forgot they even published it by now..hehe

Posted by: Spider

Posted by: ewok_kebab

It was a joke..I was making fun of the adventure game screenshot.
